About the role
Mapinga Premium Foods Ltd is looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Technical Operator, Mechanical to support the reliable operation of production machinery, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and contribute to continuous improvement at its plant in Mapinga, Bagamoyo. Responsibilities: • Operate and maintain production machinery. • Execute preventive maintenance activities and support equipment reliability. • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues. • Conduct root cause analysis and problem solving. • Contribute to process and continuous improvement initiatives. • Support quality and workplace safety activities. • Maintain technical documentation and reporting. • Work collaboratively with the operations team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key requirements
- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (as stated in the advert).
- Minimum of 3 years of quality control or food safety experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience implementing ISO 22000 or ISO 9001; HACCP knowledge is essential.
- Good understanding of GMP, GHP, product traceability, and laboratory testing.
- Practical understanding of equipment maintenance, safety procedures, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, and 5S.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is an added advantage.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and good reporting and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
