Senior Warden I
About the role
We are looking to hire a Senior Warden I for the Student Welfare Department at Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS). This role involves handling students’ social-welfare cases, disseminating university directives, maintaining accurate records on students’ welfare, identifying behavioural trends, administering welfare services, facilitating student organization activities, participating in career guidance and counselling, dealing with disciplinary matters, and assisting in maintaining a conducive learning environment. Responsibilities: - Handle students’ social-welfare cases - Disseminate the University’s directives to students - Maintain accurate records on students’ welfare - Identify behavioural trends that may require action - Administer students’ welfare services - Facilitate activities of the Students’ Organisation - Participate in career guidance and counselling of students - Help maintain a conducive learning environment - Deal with students’ disciplinary matters - Assist students in securing permits from relevant authorities - Present students’ needs to the Dean of Students and other responsible University authorities - Guide students in observing University By-Laws and Regulations - Assist the Dean of Students to organise and implement the orientation programme for new students, in collaboration with other departments - Develop extracurricular programmes with the Students’ Organisation to promote students’ personal growth and development - Participate in developing and coordinating policies and procedures related to students’ welfare - Supervise and monitor cleanliness of the hostel and the surrounding environment - Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the reporting officer How to apply: Submit a signed application letter, a detailed CV, copies of certificates and transcripts, and the names and contacts (phone and email) of three credible referees. Key requirements
- Master’s Degree in Education, Education Management, Psychology, Counselling, Sociology, Social Welfare and Home Economics or relevant equivalent
- At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience in a similar position (post-Master’s)
- Fluency in Swahili and English (written and spoken)
- Good Computer skills
- Excellent communication, presentational and organizational skills

- Rigorous analytical approach and results-oriented
- Adaptability, flexibility and stress resistance
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
