ICT Officer Grade II - Application Architect / Developer - 2 Positions
About the role
We are looking to hire an ICT Officer Grade II specialized as an Application Architect / Developer to design and develop applications within the Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO), utilizing various web development frameworks and programming languages. Responsibilities: - Assist to document application vision and prepare application architecture proposals based on identified solution gaps. - Assist in end-user support and training, re-engineering of existing business applications and maintenance of business systems. - Assist in mapping TANESCO Business Units terminology with business applications in terms of people, processes and application development technology. - Participate in requirements validation sessions and assist in evaluating application configuration, deployment and maintenance. - Respond to Service Desk referrals and end-user requests for support. - Assist to conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. - Assist in preparing periodic business-system efficiency reports for management decisions. - Assist in administration of application databases, specialized databases for power plants and other Database Management Systems (DBMS). Key requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution
- Good knowledge of web development frameworks and programming languages: Python, Java Spring Boot, Angular, React, .Net, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML
- Knowledge of container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes) and mobile frameworks (Flutter and Kotlin)
- Strong knowledge of relational database systems (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle), query languages, database design and data analysis
- Tanzanian citizen not above 45 years of age
- Public Service employees and retirees from the Public Service are not eligible
