Control Room Operator

About the role

Perseus Mining Limited is looking for an experienced Control Room Operator at its gold mining operation in Sengerema, Mwanza. The Control Room Operator controls, monitors, and optimises plant performance to achieve safe, stable, and efficient gold processing operations, provides timely feedback to Process Supervisors, identifies safety and operational issues, and ensures effective communication and reporting throughout shifts. Responsibilities: - Adhere to company policies and procedures relating to safety, environment, health, and community relations, and perform Take 5 / FLRA assessments as required - Control, monitor, and optimise plant performance using SCADA systems - Monitor multiple screens simultaneously and interpret and track operational trends in real time - Respond appropriately to changes and abnormalities in plant performance - Provide timely feedback to Process Supervisors on plant performance and safety issues, and report operational changes in real time - Follow all site-specific SOPs, policies, and operational manuals - Perform operational checks and housekeeping within the control room and assigned plant areas - Accurately record operational issues and anomalies on log sheets and maintain accurate shift records and reports - Maintain shift KPIs and operational standards - Care for and maintain PCs, monitors, UPS units, and other IT equipment within the Control Room, and report equipment faults promptly - Communicate professionally by radio and provide accurate operational information to supervisors and other personnel - Train and develop processing personnel, including new Control Room Operators, to support safe and efficient plant performance - Promote effective communication and teamwork between shifts How to apply: Applications will only be received by email. Key requirements

• Typically 10+ years of experience in gold processing plant operations
• Strong Control Room experience, preferably within gold processing plants
• Strong computer skills with SCADA expertise
• Form Four Original Certificate or higher
• Certificate of training completion for process plant circuits
• Valid Tanzanian Driving Licence
• Ability to train new operators in Control Room operations
• Ability to maintain focus and make appropriate operational decisions in a dynamic processing environment
