Paint & Decorative Coatings Sales & Marketing Representative
About the role
We are looking to hire a Paint & Decorative Coatings Sales & Marketing Representative for Colorcrest Paints Limited in Dar es Salaam. This role involves expanding hardware and stockist relationships, managing B2B sales to contractors, providing technical product advice, monitoring market intelligence, and achieving sales targets within the paints, coatings, or hardware building materials sector. Responsibilities: - Onboard, manage, and grow relationships with hardware store owners (maduka ya hardwari), paint stockists, and building material distributors. - Pitch directly to painting contractors, architects, site engineers, real estate developers, and painters’ associations (Vyama vya Mafundi Rangi). - Demonstrate paint product features (coverage rates, washability, surface prep, primers, topcoats, and tinting systems) to resolve customer queries on site. - Monitor competitor pricing, trade schemes, and new coating products in the Tanzanian market. - Consistently achieve monthly sales revenue, volume targets (liters sold), and new account acquisition metrics. Key requirements
- 2+ years of active field sales experience specifically selling paints, decorative coatings, waterproofing, or hardware products.
- Product Literacy: Solid, practical knowledge of paint types, coating application methods, surface preparation, and color matching/tinting solutions.
- Network & Territory Management: Strong existing network of hardware store stockists, painting contractors, and project managers in Dar es Salaam and upcountry regions.
- Mobility & Flexibility: Willingness to operate in the field and travel to any assigned region within Tanzania as needed.
- Personal Attributes: Exceptional communication skills, field negotiation ability, high integrity, self-driven work ethic, and results-oriented mindset.
- Age: Must be 18 years old or older.
