Yellow Machine Mechanic
About the role
Kasulu Sugar Company (Mufindi Paper – Kasulu Sugar Project) is looking to hire an experienced Yellow Machine Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, repair and service heavy earthmoving equipment at the Kasulu Sugar Project in Kigoma, Tanzania. Responsibilities: - Perform diagnostic checks on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmission, and steering and braking systems on heavy earthmoving equipment - Conduct routine servicing, fluid changes, filter replacements, and scheduled inspections - Repair or replace hydraulic cylinders, pumps, tracks, undercarriages, buckets, and other attachments - Troubleshoot and repair disabled machinery in the workshop and in the field - Maintain a safe and clean working environment - Follow safety procedures concerning heavy lifting, lockout/tagout, and hazardous materials How to apply: Use the email subject line: "Yellow Machine Mechanic – [Your Name]". Key requirements
- 7+ years of proven hands-on experience as a heavy-duty mechanic specializing in earthmoving equipment
- Strong understanding of complex hydraulic and electronic control systems, diesel engines and heavy power trains
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues independently
- Ability to read technical service manuals and schematics
- Heavy-duty mechanical repair skills
- Knowledge of diesel engines
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electronic controls
- Knowledge of heavy power trains
- Independent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to interpret technical service manuals and schematics
- Experience servicing earthmoving equipment
