About the role

Turing is a San Francisco based research accelerator for frontier AI labs. It needs bioinformatics and computational genomics experts to design coding tasks and reference solutions for a genomics benchmark. Pay: USD 260 per approved task. Contractor, remote. At least 6 hours a day, 40 hours a week, with 4 hours overlap with US Pacific time. 5 weeks. What you will do: Design hard genomics tasks using FASTA, FASTQ, VCF, BAM and expression data. Build multi step tasks in Python and command line tools. Write reproducible reference solutions and clear grading rules. Check tasks are correct, solvable and hard for top AI models.

Key requirements

• PhD, postdoc or similar research in bioinformatics, computational biology or genomics
• Strong Python
• Experience with sequence or genomics data
• Comfortable in Linux and the command line
• Biopython, samtools, bcftools or PLINK experience preferred
