Supply Chain Planning & Logistics Lead
About the role
Jaza Energy is looking for a Supply Chain Planning & Logistics Lead in Dar es Salaam to oversee end-to-end supply chain activities, including demand forecasting, procurement, vendor management and logistics coordination. The role ensures materials, equipment and assets are available when needed, at the right cost, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain demand forecasts aligned with project timelines and business growth targets. - Create and execute supply chain strategies that support scalability and flexibility. - Coordinate cross-functional planning with project, engineering and operations teams, and prepare periodic supply chain reports. - Lead local procurement of equipment and materials in compliance with Jaza procurement policy. - Select and manage suppliers and vendors, and negotiate contracts, prices and delivery terms. - Maintain purchasing documents, files and records such as RFPs and vendor files. - Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and oversee transportation, warehousing and distribution. - Optimize shipping routes, modes and inventory storage to reduce costs and lead times. - Manage customs clearance and documentation for international shipments. - Monitor supplier performance and track KPIs such as lead times, inventory levels and procurement cycle times. - Identify supply risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans. - Ensure compliance with Tanzanian import regulations and environmental, safety and regulatory standards. Key requirements
- 6 to 10 years of experience in supply chain, procurement and logistics.
- Thorough knowledge of supply chain management and procurement procedures and principles.
- Proven problem-solving, analytical and leadership skills.
- Ability to build good relationships with vendors, staff and customers.
- Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- Strict adherence to ethical standards, the Jaza Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery Policy.
