MFS Implementation Manager
About the role
AXIAN Digibank & Fintech is looking to hire an MFS Implementation Manager on a 3-year fixed-term contract to lead core wallet deployment and migration projects for mobile financial services. The role is open in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Antananarivo and Islamabad. Responsibilities: - Own the full project lifecycle: scoping, implementation design, prerequisite alignment, migration planning, build, test, cutover and stabilization. - Define migration strategy for swaps from legacy platforms (e.g. Telepin, Comviva, Amdocs, in-house) to the selected core wallet, including data migration, parallel run, fallback and customer communication plans. - Ensure the core wallet platform integrates cleanly with surrounding systems: LMS, payment gateways, card management, mobile apps, USSD/SMSC, switches, core banking, CRM, data lake, AML/fraud and regulatory reporting. - Validate non-functional requirements: performance, scalability, HA/DR, security, observability and capacity for projected transaction volumes. - Lead first-time product configuration on the core wallet platform (wallets, fees, commissions, limits, KYC tiers, agent hierarchy, GL mapping, reconciliation rules) in line with each BU's business processes. - Lead all migration and cutover activities: dry runs, data validation, customer balance reconciliation, switchover windows and rollback readiness. - Manage core wallet and third-party vendors commercially and operationally; hold them to SLAs and contractual commitments. Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications or equivalent (Master's or PMP desirable).
- Minimum 8 years in the fintech, mobile money or digital banking industry in technology planning, delivery or implementation.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience deploying or migrating core wallet platforms; experience with Telepin, Comviva, Ericsson Wallet Platform, Huawei CPS or equivalent is a strong plus.
- Proven track record managing at least one end-to-end core platform deployment or supplier swap as the delivery lead, including live customer migration.
- Experience working across African markets, ideally multi-country, with exposure to local regulators (central banks, telecom regulators) and OPCO operating models.
- Hands-on experience with architecture and planning of adjacent mobile money components: Loan Management Solutions, payment gateways, mobile apps, card management, agent management, USSD, switches and reconciliation.
