About the role
Archbishop Mihayo University College of Tabora (AMUCTA) is looking to hire an Internal Auditor in Tabora to prepare and implement internal audit plans, conduct audits of financial and operational activities, review financial records, and assess internal control systems to ensure compliance with policies and laws. What you will do: Preparing and implementing internal audit plans and programmes. Conducting audits of financial, operational and administrative activities of the organization. Reviewing financial records, transactions, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with approved policies and applicable laws. Assessing the effectiveness of internal control systems and recommending improvements. Identifying financial, operational, and compliance risks and advising management on appropriate corrective measures. Conducting investigations into suspected fraud, irregularities and misuse of organizational resources when assigned. Following up on the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations. Preparing and submitting internal audit reports to management and relevant committees. Maintaining proper and confidential audit working papers and records. Advising management on risk management, governance, and control matters. Performing any other duties as may be assigned by Principal/ Governing Board. Location: Tabora. Key requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Membership of NBAA or eligibility for membership (added advantage)
- Relevant working experience in internal auditing, accounting, finance or a related field (added advantage)
- Good knowledge of accounting principles
- Good knowledge of auditing standards
- Good knowledge of internal controls
- Good knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
- Good analytical skills
- Good communication skills
- Good report writing skills
- Good knowledge of IPSAS
- Computer literacy (accounting/auditing software, Microsoft Office applications)
