Research Officer Grade II (Epidemiology)
About the role
NIMR is looking to hire two Research Officers Grade II in Epidemiology to develop research proposals, conduct approved health research, analyse data and disseminate findings that help alleviate disease in Tanzania. Responsibilities: - Assist in developing sound and fundable research proposals to attract donor funding. - Ensure timely submission of study proposals to the relevant institutional review boards (IRB) for approval. - Conduct approved health research by collecting data. - Assist in analysing data and writing reports. - Disseminate research findings in different forms, including publication in peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences. - Participate in local and international scientific forums for the exchange of health research information and networking. - Identify consultancy opportunities, respond to them and implement awarded contracts to contribute to institutional sustainability. - Engage in the commercialization of institutional research products for the improvement of human and social well-being. - Assist in the registration and monitoring of approved health research in Tanzania where applicable. - Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor. Key requirements
- Master's Degree in Epidemiology from a recognized institution.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of an Upper Second Class, or an overall minimum Grade B+ for unclassified degrees.
