Fleet Manager
About the role
We are looking to hire a Fleet Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of the company's vehicle fleet in Dar es Salaam. This full-time role involves managing drivers, optimizing costs, and utilizing tracking systems. Responsibilities: - Fleet Operations Management: Oversee the daily routing, scheduling, dispatch, and operational deployment of company vehicles and assets. - Maintenance & Asset Protection: Implement preventive maintenance schedules, manage repair workflows, and ensure minimal vehicle downtime. - Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce occupational health and safety standards, vehicle inspection protocols, road traffic laws, and insurance policies. - Driver & Team Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate driver performance, monitoring driving behavior and safety records. - Fuel & Cost Optimization: Track fuel consumption, control operational costs, and manage vendor relationships for spare parts and vehicle maintenance. - GPS & Telematics Monitoring: Utilize vehicle tracking systems to optimize delivery routes, prevent unauthorized usage, and monitor driver behavior in real time. Key requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- 3+ years of progressive hands-on experience in a similar role.
