Artisan Grade II - Automobile - 12 Positions
About the role
We are looking to hire 12 Automobile Artisans Grade II for the Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) to diagnose, service, repair and maintain company motor vehicles and mobile equipment. Responsibilities: - Diagnose, service, repair and maintain motor vehicles, including engines, transmissions, braking, steering, suspension, drivetrain, cooling and fuel systems. - Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and routine servicing of motor vehicles in accordance with approved maintenance schedules and manufacturers' recommendations. - Inspect, test and assess vehicle systems and components to identify faults, determine their condition and recommend repairs or replacements. - Dismantle, repair, replace, adjust, assemble and test vehicle components using appropriate tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop practices. - Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems fitted to motor vehicles and mobile equipment, where applicable. - Conduct functional checks and road tests following servicing and repairs to verify vehicle performance, safety and roadworthiness. - Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, servicing, repairs, faults, spare parts and materials. - Maintain and properly use workshop tools, diagnostic equipment and facilities. - Identify requirements for spare parts, tools and equipment and provide technical input for their repair, replacement and procurement. - Comply with Company safety, health, environmental and workshop requirements, including safe working practices and proper use of PPE. - Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor. Key requirements
- Secondary Education Certificate
- VETA Trade Test II / National Vocational Award Level II or Certificate of Competence Level II in Auto Mechanics or another relevant trade from a recognized vocational training institution
- Tanzanian citizen not above 45 years of age
- Public Service employees and retirees from the Public Service are not eligible
