About the role

The Company Secretary will lead the Legal Entity Corporate Governance Strategy and Company Secretarial Function within the country. The role is responsible for providing governance advisory services and ensuring compliance with best practices, legislative requirements, and regulatory standards relating to corporate governance. Responsibilities: - Lead the Legal Entity Corporate Governance Strategy and Company Secretarial Function within the country. - Provide governance advisory services to the business. - Ensure compliance with best practices, legislative requirements, and regulatory standards relating to corporate governance. - Embed Legal and Risk Management processes in line with regulatory requirements, applicable codes of conduct, and minimum standards. - Guide senior and executive leaders and Board members on legal and regulatory provisions. Key requirements

• First Degree in Finance and Accounting, Corporate Governance, Law, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in governance-related responsibilities.
• Minimum of 10 years of post-graduation experience within the Financial Services Industry.
• At least 5 years of experience at senior management level.
• Ability to understand business operations and identify opportunities while operating within applicable laws and regulations.
• Technical competencies: Evaluation of Internal Controls, Financial Acumen, Legal Compliance, Promoting Good Governance, Risk & Control, Strategic Planning and Reporting, Strategy Definition.
• Behavioural competencies: Challenging Ideas, Convincing People, Developing Strategies, Directing People, Making Decisions, Providing Insights, Upholding Standards.
• Experience in governance-related responsibilities (8-10 years).
• Post-graduation experience within the Financial Services Industry (minimum 10 years).
• Experience at senior management level (at least 5 years).
