Bag Hooker
About the role
Kilombero Sugar Company Limited is looking for a Bag Hooker to hook and unhook bulk (1-ton) sugar bags in its manufacturing operations in Morogoro. This is a permanent position. Responsibilities: - Unhook and hook bulk bags (1-ton bags). - Hook the 1-ton bag once the crane stops on the loading bay and ensure the bag is well secured as required. - Remove the 1-ton bag handle from the crane hook during offloading. - Scan the 1-ton bags when receiving or offloading sugar from K2 before stacking. - Scan 1-ton bags when stacking for the respective bay unit and during destacking for decanting. - Ensure housekeeping is done properly in the working area. - Contribute to problem solving during CI meetings by identifying areas for improvement and making suggestions. - Ensure that work is done to the relevant safety standards and Kilombero Sugar's Quality, Safety, Health and Environment policies. - Report any non-conforming, unsafe, or unhealthy situation to your superior through the incident report system. - Ensure all operations are carried out as per ISO 9001/ISO 22000 to achieve quality and food safety standards. - Carry out any other requested duties relating to the plant. Key requirements
- Ordinary Level of secondary education.
- On-the-job training in bag hooker operations.
- Experience in warehousing, logistics, or a similar field is an added value.
- Ability to read, write, and understand SOPs.
- Hard working, committed, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Attentive to details and able to solve basic problems in the role.
- Able to work independently and with others in a team environment.
