About the role
Kasulu Sugar Company (Mufindi Paper – Kasulu Sugar Project) is hiring a skilled Heavy Commercial Truck Mechanic for the Kasulu Sugar Project in Kigoma, Tanzania. The ideal candidate will diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, and complex pneumatic/hydraulic systems to maintain fleet reliability and workplace safety. Responsibilities: - Use computerized diagnostic tools and manual troubleshooting to identify engine, transmission, electrical, and mechanical faults. - Conduct routine scheduled inspections, oil changes, fluid checks, and tune-ups to extend vehicle life and prevent road breakdowns. - Repair or overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, steering components, and suspension systems. - Inspect, service, and repair complex air brake systems, valves, and pneumatic lines. - Ensure all repaired vehicles meet stringent safety and roadworthiness standards and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Key requirements
- 7+ years of proven hands-on experience as a heavy-duty truck or commercial vehicle mechanic
- Deep understanding of heavy diesel engines
- Deep understanding of air brake systems
- Deep understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic controls
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
