APDD Individual Research Fellowships 2027

What it is

Research awards of up to 12,000 US dollars for African scholars and practitioners working on peacebuilding and development in Africa. Fellows spend up to nine months on field research and writing. They also attend two workshops in Africa, get mentoring from senior scholars, and publish with the programme.

Who can apply

African citizens who live in an African country. Academics need a PhD and a post at an African university or research body. Policy analysts and practitioners need a master's and several years of peacebuilding work at an Africa-based institution. Full rules are in the 2027 guidebook.

Applying is free. Never pay anyone to apply, to process an application or to promise a place: the provider's own site is the only application.
