About the role
About the Role Operate, monitor, and maintain packaging equipment and related processes to achieve safe and efficient production, high product quality, productivity, and waste reduction at the Dar es Salaam facility. Responsibilities Operate and monitor manual and automated packaging equipment according to standard operating procedures Ensure packaging processes meet safety, quality, and productivity targets Interpret and execute the production plan for the shift Monitor equipment and process performance and correct deviations Minimize downtime through effective equipment operation and timely escalation of issues Maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environment Adhere to safety, food safety, quality, and operational standards Identify and report unsafe conditions, behaviors, or equipment defects Track performance indicators and implement corrective actions Use Quality Failure Reports, 5 Whys, and Fishbone Analysis to identify root causes and implement solutions Contribute to AB reports and continuous improvement initiatives Perform autonomous maintenance activities, including inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and basic equipment care Support efforts to improve machine reliability, efficiency, and performance Identify spare parts requirements and process requests through SAP Complete production, quality, and equipment-related documentation accurately and on time Maintain operator workstation records and monitoring systems Complete team room administration and shift reporting Use tablets, laptops, and other electronic devices for operational reporting and communication Participate in training, coaching, and development initiatives Collaborate with team members and other departments to achieve operational objectives Requirements Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Ability to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration skills Self-motivated and able to work independently and manage priorities Problem-solving and analytical skills using structured methodologies Ability to analyze performance data and identify improvement opportunities Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances Ability to minimize equipment downtime and resolve recurring issues Proficiency in SAP and digital communication devices such as tablets and laptops Strong communication and reporting skills Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Enginee How to apply Apply through the AB InBev Workday recruitment portal: https://wd1.myworkdaysite.com/en-US/recruiting/abinbev/GHQ/job/TANZANIA-DSM-HQ/Operator_30105145 About Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL PLC) The company's mission is to brew beer and build brands that bring people together, while also striving for sustainability and responsible business practices in its pursuit of becoming a lasting organization.
