About the role

Maersk is looking for a Country Manager to lead its Tanzania business from Dar es Salaam, with teams in Dar es Salaam, Tanga and Zanzibar. The leader owns the country P&L and drives commercial growth across Logistics and Services, first mile operations, depots and fleet. The role sits on the Eastern Africa Area leadership team and represents Maersk with customers, partners, government bodies and regulators. Safety, compliance and building a strong local leadership team are core expectations.

Key requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, engineering, economics or a related field; MBA or relevant professional certification is an advantage; substantial senior leadership experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping or a similar B2B service sector; proven ownership of a sizeable P&L with a record of profitable growth; hands on experience running first mile, depot and fleet operations; strong commercial background in key accounts, pricing and contract negotiation; good knowledge of the Tanzanian logistics and regulatory environment; fluent English, with working Kiswahili strongly preferred; willingness to travel within Tanzania and the wider region
