About the Role Raising The Village is looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO), reporting to the CEO, to provide strategic and operational leadership for its global operations, ensuring the organization has the systems, people and infrastructure needed to scale its mission to end ultra-poverty across sub-Saharan Africa. The COO is accountable for Procurement, Facilities, Fleet, IT, Legal, Health & Safety and Operational Planning. Responsibilities Provide overall leadership for RTV's global operations, ensuring strong alignment between strategy and execution Oversee operations so that systems enable efficient logistics, strong program delivery and cost-effective implementation across multiple countries Build operational systems, playbooks and replication frameworks that support rapid growth and multi-country expansion Ensure compliance with donor requirements, internal policies and national regulatory frameworks Support and strengthen RTV's data governance framework, information security and responsible data use Provide enterprise oversight of RTV's legal, regulatory and compliance frameworks and contract governance Strengthen organizational risk management systems covering operational, legal and partnership risks Provide leadership and mentorship to operational leaders and country teams and build an internal talent pipeline Requirements Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience across international development, technology-enabled development programs and/or large-scale non-profit organizations Graduate degree (MA/MSc preferred) in international development, business administration, public policy, technology management or a related field Deep experience with governance, compliance and risk management in multi-country complex environments Demonstrated success scaling and managing complex operations, programs or platforms across multiple geographies in Sub-Saharan Africa or similar emerging markets Formal training or significant experience in financial management, project management and operational leadership Strong change leadership capabilities and ability to develop leaders across diverse teams and geographies The same resume will not win every job See how yours reads against this exact role, and what to change for it.
