About the role

Solidaridad is hiring a Project Officer in Arusha on a one year renewable contract to deliver its agriculture programme activities on time and against agreed targets. The officer runs good practice work with farmers such as soil management, intercropping and pest control, sets up demonstration plots and farmer field schools, and trains producers on regenerative agriculture and digital data collection. The role also covers partner relations, monthly reports, budgets and work plans, and support for new funding proposals.

Key requirements

• Master's degree in agriculture, development studies, public policy, project management or a related field; at least three years of experience in the region; understanding of the agriculture and agribusiness policy environment in East and Central Africa; experience leading small teams and starting new projects; fluent English; knowledge of strategic, financial, HR and quality management; strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to use database applications; knowledge of project funding procedures
