About the Role The Embassy of France in Tanzania is seeking a creative and experienced Digital Content, Media & Communications Coordinator to manage digital content, social media, media relations, institutional communications, event coverage, and English-Swahili communication in Dar es Salaam. The role reports to the Political Advisor / Deputy Head of Mission and is a full-time one-year contract, with the possibility of becoming indefinite, starting 1 December 2026. Responsibilities Manage and animate the Embassy’s Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube accounts by creating, scheduling, and publishing content. Manage and update the official Embassy website. Monitor content performance and audience engagement analytics. Coordinate communication activities with other embassies, French institutions, and key partners. Provide written, photographic, and videographic coverage for Embassy events and institutional activities. Contribute to planning, organizing, and executing Embassy events. Coordinate external media participation and coverage for official events. Manage the Embassy’s monthly newsletter. Design, produce, and oversee visual communication materials, including noticeboards, display boards, posters, and institutional graphics. Conduct daily press and media reviews focused on political developments and strategic issues relevant to the Embassy. Monitor Tanzanian news across English and Swahili audiovisual media, online platforms, and social media. Prepare and coordinate press releases, statements, and media evaluation reports. Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and social media influencers. Translate, proofread, and verify institutional and media documents between English and Swahili. Edit and rewrite news and media stories for accuracy, clarity, and tone. Provide live interpretation during meetings and events between English and Swahili speakers. Requirements Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in media and communications, journalism, marketing, global affairs, or a related field. Proven professional experience in communications, digital media, journalism, social media management, or content creation. Excellent written and spoken English and Swahili; good French is highly desirable. Experience in digital content creation, social media management, and press and media relations.
